Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow....

Firstly, I apologise for the fact that we let the past couple of months go by without any kind of blog post and I hope you forgive us. Life is getting in the way of blogging it seems and we just can't have that now can we?

Well those of us currently stuck in the UK are experiencing a weather emergency. For the third year in a row, the UK seems to have completely shut down in the face of a little snow. Airports have been shut, train schedules have been completely turned on their heads, some buses aren't running and there's nary a bit of grit or sand where Nsoromma and I live. Yes I even busted my ass on an icy patch whilst attempting to pick up Nsoromma's foster brother from his school. We were effectively snowed in for three days while the rest of London struggled to get around. I know we like to pretend that this weather is 'unusual' but after three years, it looks as though it's here to stay. Other countries seem to manage it fine and I think we're all running extremely low on patience.

What makes all of this worse was that they knew there was snow coming well in advance. Why are local councils caught out again and again even with advanced warning? What are they doing with our council tax? Funny thing is I used to love snow but now it feels as though nature's having a big old laugh at our expense. How have you been coping with the snow? Love it? Hate it? Comment away!

(What I wouldn't give to be in Ghana right now...)

Definitely. I had to walk to work oh, you should've seen my "slipping on ice skills." Still can't figure out why we're never fully prepared for the worst case scenario but ah well, I'd give it all to be back home!

This weather's not it at all. It's supposed to snow again this week so I hope they'll have figured something out by then.

Instead of talking "big society" and killing us with philosophies on happiness etc. David Cameron should focus on the REAL and physical problems we face such as scary snow in winter. Even Russia handle a much worse problem better-on NO money kmt! Grrr!

welll ,i really love this post abt the winter in the uk ,to be precise when it snows there ,i even wrote it on my status on Fb. i was very angry that my mom couldnt fly over cos Catwick airport was shut down for almost a week cos of just two days snow in london ...i live in germany and go on long holidays in the uk and also have relatives there ..infact i must say uk system is very old and most often things are very unorganised ,and it worst when it snows there .. it might be that they dont have proper winter like in other europen countries cos its an island ...but yet they should be prepared for reall winter since they have weather forcasters that can tell there gonna be snow ..uk has never prepared for winter ,when it snows everything comes to a stand still for them ,for christ sake it snows in other countreis for two and trins and busses still work ,just some delay ,and a whole airport can never close ,rather some flights would be cancelled or delayed ...and yes the streets and footpaths and being cleaned by the snow cars and cleaners ...
but as for uk ,the eupitments to clean the streest are completely missing they dont take care of the human safety during a snow and icy winter ... always my aunty who used to lived in germany and moved there complain ,cos u dont see such things in germany or in other countries ..
uk must step with their organisation during winter and stop being careless cos the overpopulation of foreigners there ,as i once heard as reason of even not keeping the cities clean ...especially london ...
