Flashback of the Day: Common ft. Lauryn Hill- "Retrospect For Life"

An honest look at the emotions a man goes through when his girlfriend tells him she's pregnant. With samples of Donny Hathaway's A Song For You and Stevie Wonder's Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer, the lyrics speak for themselves. (Come back Lauryn!)

This song is so damn honest, it's a shame that people kinna have to hide these very natural feelings or else they are seen as being assholes.

This song is honest, I guess, but I think that sometimes it's better not to blurt out every feeling when one gets THAT announcement, babies take 9 months- almost a year- to come and feelings etc will probably change in that time. All that stuff about being 'ready' for a baby I don't really buy, we know how babies are made and how to prevent them being made AND I don't think you can ever be really ready to be a parent, how can your prepare for a minmum of 18 years in 9 months? Until the baby comes you don't know what the child is going to be like, what illnesses they're going to have etc so as for ready-ness, not a factor in my book.

SONG IS BEAURRIFUL AS WELL
